Krista Ramsey blog post

I read the column Dear new mom, welcome to a loving group. This post is about how important a mom is to her kid. It helps to bring out the biggest love in her heart and show care for here children.

I think the best written line of the story is "Love is a mother's guiding star. It gives her the patience to keep up with immunizations and check-ups, which can be so annoying but matter so much." I think that this is the best written line in the story because it is two sentences and shows good length on short and one long. The first sentence of it is very short and has so much meaning and depth into the short 6 words it is in. The word choice in this line is very detailed and helps show how much a mother cares and loves her childern.

Krista Ramsey's style of writing is detailed and show how little things that we take for granted that are actually really important. I think these help to make her a better writer and help the reader really see the world in a different way.

One question that I would ask is how does she see the hidden things in the world. Another question I would ask is how do you get that much detail into a short column. The final question I would ask Krista Ramsey is how does she feel when writing these blogs because they are so meaningful.

Why I Chose Holes

I chose the book Holes. I chose this because when I was looking through some of the books I had at my house, the back of Holes looked most interesting. As I read the back it really helped me picture what this book was all about and it looked interesting. When I started reading through the first pages of Holes it really showed detail and depth and helped to bring out the big picture in the story. Also in this book it helps describe what type of person Stanley is and how he reacts to different situations in the story. Finally the book describes how harsh of conditions he is going to go through and what type of place Camp Green Lake is. I am very excited to see how this book turns out! I will keep you guys posted!

Possible Future Plot Events

My Predicitons is he will think all things bad happened to him because of his pig stealing great-great-grandfather. I predict that Stanley will have a rough time at Camp Green Lake and he will blame it on his great-great-grandfather. I predict that a snake will be in his hole or bed that he is sleeping/digging in that day/night. When Stanley gets there he will meet someone who is nice to him and that is his only friend at Camp Green Lake. I predict that Stanley will go through trouble with dehydration and the holes he must dig. Finally I predict that Stanley will find a friend that has been through the same thing where he was innocent and was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Finally I think that Stanley will figure out that it is not his great-great-grandfathers part and maybe he just has karma and maybe just at the wrong place at the wrong time just like it happens to other people. I am excited to see how my predictions turn out with Stanley and the people in the story.

Setting of Holes

The setting of the book is at Camp Green Lake. Camp Green Lake is a dried up piece of land that is extremely hot and a boy's detention center. The boys at Camp Green Lake are required to dig holes at this hot fiery place. In this story Stanley goes there and decribes in detail how it is very hot and takes a lot of water to keep hydrated in these harsh conditions. As you can see this would not be someones favorite place to go. It is a desert and the prision guards are trying to make it into a lake. These harsh conditions may make for some difficult times later in the story.

Holes Predictions

My predictions for the books Holes is this character Stanley Yelnats is under a curse from his great-great-grandfather who stole a pig. Stanley has had many unfortunate problems happen to him based off of bad luck. He is sent to a detention center Camp Green Lake where boys build character from digging 5 feet wide and 5 feet deep holes every day. There is not any lake at Camp Green Lake. My predictions for this book is he is going to go to the place Camp Green Lake and try to get away and have the curse taken off of him but it will turn out that the curse is no such thing. It will be all in Stanley's head and it will turn out that all those bad things that had happened to him actually helped to shape who Stanley is.

In this book i think Stanley Yelnats is going to be a shy kid where all bad things happen to him for no reason. I think he will have brown hair and be the kind of kid that likes school.

Fahrenheit 451 Clarisse Characterization

In the book Fahrenheit 451 Clarisse is an odd one. She likes to look at people and reads books. This is not how the other people in the story. She notices different things in people and knows what the people are going to say before they say it.  She has the power to make other people change their thoughts just like she did with Montag.

My description of Clarisse is she has red hair, glasses, short, and happy. She wears long colorful dresses and is the type of person that would walk the park for fun and to watch and look at different things. She is the only person that seems truly happy in that city.
